Chic 101: Lesson 4 -- Body Care and How to Get Rid of Cellulite

To be chic, looking the part isn't enough (at least for me); I'd have to feel chic as well. I've noticed that my outer appearance improves significantly when I feel good in my own body and skin. Basically, feeling happy and confident makes you look happy and confident! I take care of my face, hair, nails, and everything else. Therefore, the body will not be neglected.

I'm more of a long, soothing shower kind of girl, with luxurious bath products, rather than a soaking-in-the-bath type of person.

Each shower begins with a beautifully fragrant body wash, either a liquid body wash or a moisturizing bar of soap. Featured above is Castelbel's Pomegranate soap, but of course, it is just an example of what I like. In reality, I tend to switch bath products up, depending on my mood.

Afterward, to ensure that my skin remains smooth and taut, I use anti-cellulite body treatments.

While nothing can replace exercising as a way to tone up your body (after all, it takes having muscle tone -- gained from working out, in order to be toned), it's going to take a little bit more than working out at the gym to get rid of the dimply cellulite that causes the skin to resemble orange peel. Thankfully, there is hope. I have had success with anti-cellulite treatments from different brands, especially Yves Rocher, but I love the classic Nivea scent.

There are many excellent and effective treatments out there, particularly ones from France, but Nivea Skin Firming Cellulite treatments are much more accessible in the American market, and work just as well. Here is my suggested routine:

1) After you have bathed and dried your body, apply Nivea Skin Firming Cellulite Gel-Cream, follow by the Nivea Firming Cellulite Serum. For the sake of saving time, I recommend mixing the two products together in your palm and apply them at once. The serum is the more concentrated version of the active ingredients, but using multiple products does yield faster results.

2) Finally, apply the Nivea Skin Firming Hydration Body Lotion all over to keep your skin moisturized and smooth.

Where to purchase:

A) Castelbel soap can be purchased at Amazon

B) Nivea Skin Firming Cellulite treatments can be purchased at Ulta

  1. Nice review! I think it's really important how a product makes you feel, it's almost half the experience - not just the effectiveness. But when it comes to cellulite, I don't think there are any short cuts. Exercise, water, massage is all good, but sometimes it won't get rid of it. I'm very VERY happy to be proven wrong, but so far I haven't found anything that is a miracle product for this area. Xx

    1. I agree -- how it makes you feel is so important. I think some anti-cellulite products work and some do not, depending on what the active ingredients are. For example, if the only active ingredient is caffeine, it could still work but it's only temporary. Lol.
