Mother's Day 2014 Gift Ideas

My international beauty raffle has ended! See who the winner is at the end of this post!

I have also written a guest blog on how to wear pearls without looking old-fashioned, which you can read HERE!

Are you a procrastinator like I am?

Scrambling for a Mother's Day gift at the last minute?

Me, too. Mother's Day in America is on May 11, only seven days away!

This Mother's Day will be my first one as a mother myself, so this guide is also based on what I would like to receive as a mom.

I have broken the guide down to four different price points:

  • $50 or less.
  • $100 or less.
  • $200 or less.
  • Priceless.
Also, I tried to make sure that no matter which price point your gift is from, it will make your mom feel special when she receives it!

$50 and under:

1. Tiffany Bow Mug: Make her feel special with something from Tiffany! Beside their beautiful jewelry, Tiffany also makes beautiful housewares. This beautiful mug comes in the classic Tiffany-blue shade, with a raised 3-D bow. The mug resembles the widely recognized Tiffany box. $35.

2. Bath & Body Works 3-Wick Candle: What makes BBW candles so special, in addition to their beautiful and unique scents, is the fact that many of their candles have three wicks, which means stronger scent throw. No matter what your mom's scent preference is, BBW is likely to have a candle that fits it. Also, the beautiful packaging means that this candle is ready to be presented as a gift! $22

3. Yankee Candle: Another good candle brand! With so many uniquely beautiful scents to choose from, good luck choosing just one. :-) What I also like about Yankee Candle is the jar packaging with the vacuum seal lid. Once you are done with the candle, thoroughly clean it and peel off the label. You will now have a jar that is perfect to hold so many things, from cotton balls to sugar, coffee, etc.

4. Chanel Lipstick: Does anybody really need a $35 lipstick? Of course not, but sometimes the frivolous things that we don't necessarily need are the ones that make us feel most special. Besides, it's for a special occasion! $35.

5. Alex and Ani Bangle Bracelet: Made in the USA, out of recycled brass, Alex and Ani bracelets make sweet and unique gifts. The bracelets come in two tones, and with many different charms, from letters to symbols, for you to choose from.

6. Marc Jacobs "Pinwheel Flower" Studs: These earrings are simply beautiful; they are so feminine yet very modern at the same time. Marc Jacobs' "Pinwheel Flower" studs are plated with 12 Karat gold, and have a Czech crystal in the center. $48

$100 and under:

 1. Poverty Flats "Tunnel Faux Leather Shoulder Bag": This beautiful faux leather bag is made out of beautiful, high-quality, leather-like material. It also comes in five shades -- blush (featured), navy, black, red, and tan. Best of all, it is spacious yet not bulky, and the strap is adjustable. $98

2. Tiffany "Atlas" Crystal BowlSomething that Mom can proudly display as a prominent piece in her living room, this crystal bowl, seven inches in diameter, is perfect as a candy dish. It can also be perfect for the powder table, where it can hold cotton balls, hair pins, jewelry, and other small accessories. $100.

3. Nordstrom "Floral Dots" Silk Scarf: This scarf features beautiful photorealistic flowers and polka dots. It can be worn on the neck, as a headband, hair tie, etc. The scarf also comes in three different color schemes, so be sure to check them out. $96.

4. Blue Nile "Antiqued Flowers" Silver Bangle Bracelet: This Art Nouveau-inspired bracelet is just gorgeous. It is made out of sterling silver, with antiqued flowers and vines running all around. The bracelet is versatile and can be dressed up or down easily. $95.

5. Calypso St. Barth "Lily": This beautiful perfume is fresh and light, perfect for any time. It is a beautiful blend of cassis, yellow mandarin, rose, musk, white peach blossoms, and sandalwood. Retails for $115, it is currently on sale for $57.50.

6. Tory Burch "Katie" Earrings: How cute are these? Tory Burch's gold-toned (16 Karat plated) earrings with deep blue glass pearls are simply gorgeous. Also, if you look closely, you'd notice that the flower petals resemble little hearts! $95.

7. Caswell-Massey Almond "Year of Soap" set: Featuring twelve bars of soap, this collection of almond soap bars is simply scrumptious. With a delicious, creamy almond scent and a high percentage of cold cream added to the ingredients, Caswell-Massey Almond soap gently cleanses without drying the skin. $100. To read more about Caswell-Massey, click HERE to read my post.

8. Jonathan Adler Silk Scarf: Sadly, from the time I saved this picture to the time I write this blog post here, only two days later, it is no longer available on Nordstrom's website. Thus, I do not have further information to give you.

$200 and under:

 1. Tiffany Bead Bracelet With Blue Enamel Heart: Minimalistic and modern, this bracelet gives a cooling sensation when worn on the wrist. The bead bracelet features a mini heart that has Tiffany-blue enamel on one side, and sterling silver on the other. $150.

2. Tiffany Olive Leaf Vine Pendant by Paloma Picasso: A symbol of peace and abundance, this olive branch pendant is neither too big, nor too small. The jewelry piece hangs beautifully from the neck, adding a nice glow to the complexion. $175

3. Teavana Tea of the Month Club: Teavana's Tea of the Month club is pretty awesome. For the first month, your mom will receive a beautiful tea tin, a stainless steel Teavana Perfect Tea measuring spoon, and 2 oz of Majaraja Chai Oolong tea. For the next five months, Mom will continue to receive a popular and delicious tea in the mail. Club membership is for six months worth of tea at a time. $130.

4. "Ardent" perfume by Boadicea the Victorious: This is a complex, earthy-floral blend of coriander, carrot seed, Turkish rose, beeswax, labdanum, and many more exotic ingredients. One spray and you'd be transported to another world. $185

5. Clarisonic Pedi Foot Transformation: Soothe Mom's tired feet with this wonderful kit. It smooths out callous and moisturizes rough, dry heels and toes. $199 ($310 value)

6. Liebeskind "Arielle" bag: This bag is a beautiful contrast between cool, rugged nylon and soft leather. It is versatile and can be worn with either skirts or jeans. $125

Priceless:

While the following items may not cost much, they do require time and effort. The perfect gifts for a mom who has everything. Great memory builders.
1. Bake her favorite cake, or try a new cake recipe.

2. Put together a "girls night in" movie kit, with a DVD or two, popcorn, and other movie snacks.

3. Do gardening or yardwork.

4. A day at the beach, relaxing on the pier and people-watching.

5. Cook her lunch or dinner.

6. A trip to a spa, or get your mani-pedi done together.

What are you planning to give your mother for Mother's Day? Or, what did you give her if you have already celebrated? I'd love to see your answer, and if you have a blog -- feel free to leave a link, too!
