What to Wear With Your Minnetonka Double Fringe Boots

When I was still in college, I practically lived in my Minnetonka moccasins. Each pair lasted me two to three semesters, with daily wear, which wasn't bad at all! I liked that they always added a cool, slightly Rock 'N' Roll touch to my outfits. I have always had a great admiration for the South Western aesthetics and cannot help but be drawn to the natural ruggedness of the style.

Sean (my husband) bought me a pair of Minnetonka Double Fringe Side Zip boots, and I'm really excited to wear them! I can't wait to wear them with the different things that I have in my closet.

So, today's post will be about the different ways to wear these boots; the suggestions will also work on other boots and moccasins from Minnetonka, too, by the way.
  • Keep the rest of your clothes simple when wearing these footwears. Why? Because these shoes already have so many details, such as studs, fringes, beads, feathers, etc., depending on the style that you get, so you don't want your outfit to look overwhelming.
  • Also, avoid the temptation to mix the shoes with other stereotypical trends (feathers in hair; massive turquoise jewelry, etc.) because not only can that be seen as disrespectful by many, but also, trust me, you will look as though you are in costume. After all, no matter how casual our outfits are, we'd still want to look chic and stylish!
  • Lastly, keep in mind that these shoes are casual and look better with soft-structured clothing, versus fashion pieces with stiffer, more structured lines.
Here are a few ideas on what you can pair the boots with it. I really like the hip purse below, by the way! You wear it on your hip as you would a belt, and it looks way cooler than the fanny pack.

The clothes and accessories in the first picture are available at American Eagle.

Or pair them with simple cotton dresses! The following dresses are available at Mod Cloth.

Or, maybe cute shorts with simple pretty blouses! The shorts and blouses are available at Mod Cloth.

I'd like to note that the reason why I link directly to the stores, instead of the individual items, is because inventory changes so often that I don't want to have a bunch of dead links on my blog! :o) Also, I've kept in mind to pair the boots up with pieces that are easy to find replacements for, should they sell out.
