Ipsy Glam Bag August 2014 Review

How have you been? I've been exhausted! Each day, I try to find something to do because, otherwise, I'd be stuck in the hotel room, which is boring. As a result, I'm usually exhausted by dinner time every evening, lol, but I also don't want to neglect this blog. I promise that I will respond to comments, questions, and visit your blog soon. Believe me, I know that I have a lot to catch up on! :o)

Hopefully, I'll be able to blog soon with pictures of my trip so far! I just can't do that yet because of the prior commitments that I have made; I have a few more review posts that need to be posted for the rest of this month, because I did not plan very well and ended up promising a few companies that I will review their products by certain dates.

Also, I have a few big giveaways in the coming months, so stay tuned!

Moving forward, I am once again impressed by this month's Ipsy Glam Bag! Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription program that costs $10 for US residents (plus local sales tax, which is 8% for me), and shipping is free. Canadians pay $5 for shipping, which is still a very good deal!

Once you are an Ipsy subscriber, you will be asked to take a personality test, and then the team at Ipsy will choose products for you based on your answers. I have been a subscriber since last year, and I have been very impressed! If you are interested in signing up, please click HERE. I will be so happy if you click on that link because I'll earn a few points, which I can save for a big prize. I do not get paid if you click on that link. :o)

Here's what I received this month:

  1. A collectible Ipsy makeup bag.
  1. Dr. Brandt Pores No More Pore Refiner Primer: Deluxe sample. $11.25; retails for $45. I haven't used this yet, but have not been failed by any product from Dr. Brandt either.
  1. Jersey Shore Sun Mongongo lip balm: Full size. $5.50. I can always use another lip balm! I always misplaced my lip balms, so I now have a one permanently in each purse. This one has a light, non-offensive fruity scent. I'm not sure of how anti-aging it is, but the texture is nice and I like it.
  1. Urban Decay Perversion Mascara: Deluxe sample. $5.50; retails for $22. This mascara lengthens, volumizes, and darkens. It really does do everything! The mascara is also smudge-proof and lasts all day.
  1. Klorane dry shampoo: Deluxe sample. $9.00. I haven't used this yet, but I was very happy to receive something by Klorane.
  1. J.Cat Beauty Flying Solo Eyeshadow: Full size. $2.99. This is a shimmery champagne shade, which I already have so many of. I think I'll either give it to someone or throw it into my "blog raffle" pile, rather than testing it and never use it again.
Total value of this month's Glam Bag: $34.24

How much I actually spent: $10.80

How happy am I with this bag? Absolutely happy! I looked at what I could have received for this month, as shown below, and I did not want any of those things at all. Once again, the Ipsy team came through and took my preferences into consideration!

What did you receive in this month's Glam Bag? If you are not an Ipsy subscriber, which subscription services are you with? If you have a blog, feel free to leave the link to with your answer; I'd love to visit it! :o)
