MeMeBox Review: Scentbox #5 Tropical Fruits

Hello all! It's been awhile since I last blogged, and I've really missed it. Since it's the holidays season, I've been busy entertaining friends and family from out of town, along with paying visits to loved ones who live far away. Needless to say, I've been busy! For those who are wondering, my fitness goal will be updated tomorrow. :o)

Anyhow, today I have another awesome MeMeBox (pronounced Mimi-Box) review for you; it's definitely one of my most favorite ones yet.

As you may already know, MeMeBox is a beauty box service, but it is different from all of the other ones, for the following reasons:
  • This is not a subscription service, so you don't have to make a commitment! Order the boxes you want, or wait until you see ones that you like.
  • The boxes are available in different price ranges, so that you can purchase the box that you feel comfortable paying for.
  • The boxes are from South Korea (they are shipped to many countries), and feature only the top quality South Korean beauty brands.
  • Each box has a theme, so while it is a surprise, you will still have an idea of what you are getting, and make your choices.
  • The majority of the products are full-sized.
  • Since MeMeBox understands that it may be difficult for consumers outside of South Korea to purchase the products in the box, they also have an online store where you can repurchase your favorites.
  • Act quick! MeMeBox beauty boxes sell out very quickly, so if you see something that you like, better snatch it up! If you want to buy a box, be sure to click on my link and use coupon code BFY53B to take off $5 off of your order of $30 or more! Place your order soon because this code expires on 11/30. Also, when you sign up, you will get $3 in store credit, which you can use immediately; that's a total of $8 off. :o)
So, what's in this box? Let's open it together. :-)

The theme for this MeMeBox is "Scentbox #5: Tropical Fruits," and everything in it smells amazing!

1) Konad Niju Mango Moisture Hand Cream: $6. Full sized. This hand cream smells just like sweet ripened mango! It is enriched with organic argan oil, shea butter, olive oil, and vitamin E. From the sound of it, you would think that it's a heavy formula, but the product is actually very light; it moisturizes your hands without making them feel greasy.

2) Konad Scented Nail Polish: $6. Full sized. Randomly selected from the following scents: grapefruit; kiwi; lychee; orange; pineapple.

I received this nail polish in the lychee scent, and it smells so good! It smells like regular nail polish when wet, and a lot like roses when first dried. However, after about one hour or so, the scent became a soft, tropical fruit scent, identical to a lychee fruit.

The color is very smooth, opaque, and shiny, too. It took only two coats to completely coat my nails. Another thing I really like about this nail polish is the quick drying time; it took less time than nail polishes from other brands, in my opinion.

If you have no idea what a lychee fruit is, it looks like this (you eat the white part). The lychee fruit has a texture similar to peeled grape, and tastes like a mixture of grape, pear, and ripe kiwi.

3) Boutique Bebe Coconut Pack: $20. Full sized. Whoa, this cleanser is amazing, and smells like rich, creamy coconut milk! It looks like a bar of soap, but it is unlike the bar soaps that we're familiar with. Regular bar soap contains many different drying sufactants and sulfates, while this one is made with very moisturizing oils such as extra virgin coconut oil, olive oil, argan oil, olive butter, shea butter, rice bran oil, vitamin E. The ingredients are organic, too.

Ironically, Boutique Bebe's Coconut Pack is real soap, because this is how soap was traditionally made, using the cold pressed method. Commercial bar soaps (those with harsh surfactants, sulfates, etc.) are not real soap; they're made the cheap and quick way by mixing sulfates and other cheap chemicals together before being pressed into bars.

 4) Evas Vitamin Body Wash 200mL: $6. Full sized. Randomly selected from papaya, pomegranate, orange, lemon, grape, strawberry.

I received this body wash in strawberry; it smells very refreshing, and washes off easily. The body wash is enriched with vitamins, and gives your skin some hydration as you use it. Of course, this is still a body wash, so I recommend using a moisturizer afterward, especially now that we're entering Winter.

5) Ladykin Twinklelight Soft FOam Cleansing Kiwi: $10. Full sized. This antioxidant-rich cleanser is foaming yet also creamy at the same time. It cleanses my skin without over-drying it. What I like to do is to use it in the shower, because I prefer to rub this on to my face and leave it there while I shampoo my hair. Doing this allows me to really ensure that all makeup has time to be removed. Of course, if your skin is dry, don't do what I do!

You don't need to leave this on for as long as I do for a thorough cleansing; it just happens to be my preferred method.

Total box value: $48
Cost of box: $15
