Walmart Winter 2014 Beauty Box Review!

I've been updating my blog like a madwoman for the past couple of days (as part of my New Year's Resolution!), so be sure to check those out, too, if you haven't yet:

  1. InstaNatural Cellulite Cream.
  2. GreenForce Labs NO2 Pre-Workout Supplement.
  3. Kiss Me Organics' Organic Matcha Green Tea.
Alright, let's talk about one of my favorite beauty discoveries of 2014: the Walmart Beauty Box! Each box is 100% free, and subscribers need to pay only the $5 shipping cost. Isn't that amazing?

How it works: Sign up for an account HERE, and each season, you will be sent a beauty box of some of the latest beauty products that are carried at Walmart. You will never be charged until your box is ready to be shipped.

Important fact: there are two different Walmart beauty boxes, for two different age groups. The first box is for subscribers under 30, and the second one is for ones over 30. The "under 30" box, which I have, has the cooler products (in my opinion). Of course, I may have a different opinion once I fall into the other category. Basically, Walmart beauty box will choose products that they feel would be more useful to you.

Here are all of the products that I received, totally free with only $5 for shipping:
  1. Covergirl Colorlicious lipgloss in "Juicy Fruit": this is such a beautiful, creamy pink that is not overly shiny. It's just a very fresh, bridal pink. The swatch for this is below
  2. Burt's Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes: these towelettes are 99.1% natural, and are very effective at removing my makeup, including mascara (note: I do not wear waterproof mascara).
  3. Dove Nutrium Deep Moisture Nourishing Body Wash: this is already one of my favorite body washes for Winter, because it cleanses your skin without leaving soap residue, nor does it dry your skin out!
  4. L'Oreal Color Vibrancy shampoo, conditioner, and hair mask: I already have my favorite haircare products from another brand, so I decided not to try this. I've put it into my box of "giveaway products," and host the giveaway at a later date.
  5. John Frieda Luxurious Volume shampoo, conditioner, and a treatment: I might try these at some point, because I remember enjoying using John Frieda products back in high school.

  1. Flower Beauty perfume samples in "Cherished," "Radiant," and "Sultry."
  • Cherished: a comforting and floral, blended with skin musk and powdery notes. This is one of my favorites of the three! I love how cozy this smells; it really is like being wrapped in a warm cashmere blanket. Perfect to wear in all seasons, in my opinion! It is very reminiscent of Guerlain's "Shalimar," but younger. Flower Beauty's Cherished perfume also reminds me of Soap & Glory's Eau de S&G perfume (the one in the black rectangular bottle with pink tassels).
  • Sultry: this is described as a "sensual oriental floral that wraps you in a seductive trail of creamy florals, alluring spices, and sultry vanilla-woods." My opinion on this is eh. It's a "safe and nice" blend of white musk, white woods, and some berry. It's inoffensive but also unremarkable.
  • Radiant: this is another favorite of mine; it's such a crisp yet lush rose. Flower Beauty's Radiant perfume reminds me a lot of Burberry Body, but without so much musk. It is described as, "a striking and confident sparkling floral blooming with dewy greens and lush freshness."

    1. Exactly! The $5 shipping is so reasonable, too; I spend more than that on a cup of latte at Starbucks.
