My Epic Sephora Haul

Don't you just love hauls? I love them! Today, I would like to talk about my haul from Sephora -- the most romantic place on Earth.

However, before we move forward, I need to post up a disclaimer: I am not doing this to brag. I like to see what other girls purchase, and I love to share my purchases, as well. Also, I do not advocate spending money irresponsibly, nor do I encourage it. My purchases were done after many weeks of research to ensure that they were what I truly wanted or needed. I understand that there are those who scoff at how others choose to spend their money, but I see this as an investment, and I make big purchases only a couple times a year, when I run out of products! :o)

Skincare:

1) Josie Maran Argan Daily Moisturizer SPF 47: This is a really good moisturizer to wear in the Winter, when your skin is dry. So far, it's the only physical sunblock I've seen that doesn't cause white flashback in pictures! My advice is to put four pumps into your palm, wait a few seconds for your skin to warm it up (to make it easy to spread on your skin), and then apply it to your face. You will need two or three more pumps after that for your neck.

2) Peter Thomas Roth 1.5% Retinol serum: This is excellent for treating and preventing fine lines and wrinkles! Despite being a retinol product, I have not experienced any skin irritation.

3) Peter Thomas Roth 3% Retinoid serum: I will use use this once I'm finished with the 1.5% formulation.

4) Sunday Riley "Flora" oil: Excellent for hydration and brightening! To read my full review, click HERE.

5) Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Cream: This cream is very ideal for all skin types! It hydrates and softens your skin without making it feel greasy. You definitely do not need to use a lot for hydration. One jar lasts me nearly six months because I need to use only a little bit of the cream each time, so I need to purchase this only twice a year.

6) First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads: These pads are safe for daily use, since they contain a very small amount of Lactic and Glycolic acids; just enough to safely and gently exfoliate your skin, without causing any irritation. The idea is that it is better for your skin to gently resurface/remove a thin layer of dead skin cells daily, instead of one big chemical peel a month, because the daily method does not cause your skin to peel or become irritated.

7) Fresh Rose Face Mask: this mask is so nice for hydration and toning, and it smells amazing! To be honest, I use it more for a sensory experience, rather than for skincare purposes, even though the mask does provide skincare benefits.

Makeup: Complexion.

1) NARS "Custard" concealer: this concealer is very good for covering and brightening the under-eye areas. However, it can be a bit drying, and I find that it is best over a very hydrating eye cream, and if I skip sealing it with a powder afterward. I understand that the beauty "rule" is that you should always finish your concealer off with a powder, but I find that my concealer looks best when I don't set it at all.

2) NARS "Sin" blush: a very nice berry blush with a hint of luminescent finish.

3) Lancome Dual Finish powder foundation: you may use this as either a finishing/touch-up powder, or as a powder foundation! It comes with two different sponges (for two different purposes: sheer- and full-coverage applications).

4) Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder in "Luminous Light": Oh, my goodness, this gives such a nice and smooth, airbrushed overall effect! After you've put on your foundation and powder, dust an Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder (there are six different shades/effects) all over your face for a healthy, non-shimmery, non-shiny glow! If your skin is very dry, you can just skip the finishing powder, and use the Hourglass one only.

Makeup: Eye products.

1) Laura Mercier "Copper Brown" eyeliner: this eyeliner is great for days when you still want a very dark eyeliner, but don't want to wear a black one. Laura Mercier's "Copper Brown" eyeliner is a beautiful deep brown with sparkle shimmers for some dimension.

2) Lancome Liqui-Pencil in "Lamé": wow, all of the Lancome eyeliners in this range are so smooth and long-lasting! You get the smooth and clean application of a liquid eyeliner, but it comes in the form of a pencil. After 30 seconds, the eyeliner will have set and stay completely still on your skin until you remove it. You can even rub against your skin forever, and the eyeliner would still not transfer at all.

3) Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara: this is a very good mascara! It applies cleanly, evenly, and does not smudge or clump. It nicely lengthens your lashes, and holds curls very well.

4) Laura Mercier "Cashmere" eyeshadow: a simple, versatile, and sheer neutral eyeshadow that is easy to blend. I don't wear this alone, but rather as a transition shade. It looks pinkish in the compact, but goes on very light and not pink at all. Love it!

5) Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade: I don't go crazy with my eyebrows, nor do I give them the "Instagram" look with this pomade. I actually sheer the product out with a brush, and apply a small amount just to tint my eyebrows.

Makeup: Eyeshadow palettes.

1) Sephora Z-Palette: Since I had a few eyeshadow pans that were missing their original containers, I thought that putting them into an empty palette (such as the ones offered by Sephora) would be a good idea.

2) Laura Mercier Eye Art eyeshadow palette: the most perfect neutral palette ever, if you want to own just one! What I look for in a neutral palette is one that is truly neutral, without over-the-top shimmers and sparkles.

3) Too Faced "Love" palette: I seriously love this! The eyeshadows are so buttery in texture, and apply beautifully.

This year, I also reached Sephora's highest echelon of their rewards club: VIB Rouge! As a VIB Rouge, I am privy'd to an unlimited amount of free 2-day shipping, unlimited full-face makeovers from one of their studio artists (basically, I have my own personal makeup artist!), and all of the benefits that their Beauty Insiders and Very Important Beauty Insiders (VIBs) get!

So, what's in my welcome kit?

In addition to my red membership card (not pictured), I also received a Marc Jacobs lipstick called "So Rouge," which is made for Sephora's VIB Rouge members only! It is a true, neutral red that is complementary on all skin tones.

I am very pleased with my lipstick, but I wish that it were full-sized because it is so beautiful.

  3. That is such a amazing haul! I am using Nip+Fab radiance pad and I adore it, never tried the one from First Aid Beauty though. I like that the Josie Maran moisturizer has a very high SPF, must add that into my wish list.
